Discussion Question: Summarize the main points from the review on prokaryotes and eukaryotes. How do these points help in understanding cellular evolution?
the main points were mainly about the function of the cells,, not much else- oh- and a summary of a theory-
The endosymbiotic theory posits that organelles such as mitochondria and chloroplasts were once free-living prokaryotic cells that formed a symbiotic relationship with larger host cells, evolving into interdependent structures. this theory assisted the study in cellular evolution, due to human curiosity
DQ I made up pt1 : What is the main reason for wanting to learn Spanish?
English is the #1 most spoken language in the world, and Spanish is close behind, the only two languages ahead of it being Hindu and Mandarin Chinese. i believe if i get Spanish down, ill be able to easily catch onto a lot of other "love-languages" and be able to traverse and converse in the world more smoothly.
DQ I made up pt2: what connects every living animal?
the ability to ingest some sort of item, and produce energy, often producing a byproduct which will later contribute to making more food for other animals.
Thank you for your responses! You’ve provided some great insights, and I’d like to expand on your points while asking a few questions to further explore these ideas. I gave you three questions to consider. I'd appreciate it if you could choose one to respond to.
Prokaryotes, Eukaryotes, and Cellular Evolution: You’ve highlighted the endosymbiotic theory well. This theory is indeed pivotal in understanding cellular evolution, as it explains how eukaryotic cells developed their complexity by incorporating simpler prokaryotic cells. It also emphasizes how cooperation and interdependence have been key drivers in the evolution of life. What do you think might have motivated the initial symbiotic relationship between these cells, and how might studying modern organisms help us learn more about this process?
Why Learn Spanish?: Your reasoning for learning Spanish is compelling, especially with its close ties to other Romance languages like French, Italian, and Portuguese. Learning Spanish could indeed open doors to smoother global communication and deeper cultural understanding. Besides language similarities, what aspects of Spanish-speaking cultures do you find most interesting, and how might they enhance your learning experience?
What Connects Every Living Animal?: Your point about energy production and the interconnectedness of life through byproducts is a fascinating observation. This energy flow highlights the importance of ecosystems and food chains. To take it further, do you think this connection extends to non-physical traits, such as behavior or social structures, and how might those shared characteristics shape life on Earth?
Your responses show a strong understanding of these concepts, and your creativity in formulating discussion questions is impressive. Keep up the excellent work, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these follow-up questions!
